BSaP Title
Contra Costa College’s Black Song and Poetry  (BSAP) is a performing ensemble under the direction of African American Professor Terence Elliott. BSAP is made up of students who compose and perform their own songs of praise and protest. Their goal is to uplift people through music and the spoken word and to give voice to the needs of their communities. This talented group of musicians, singers, and poets create original songsBSaP Photo, drawing on a wide range of African American influences, from gospel to hip-hop. Their gritty and honest CD “Cultural Consciousness”, is inspirational and uplifting, brimming over with raw talent and energy.

In February 2003, BSAP had the chance of a lifetime experience to travel to Ghana, Africa. The group is planning to go to Cuba, April 2004.
