The Professor “The New Jazz Swing"

The Professor: The New Jazz Swing is a welcome blend of straight-ahead and contemporary jazz, with an added mix of R&B and funk. As a composer he incorporates various styles from jazz to gospel, hip-hop and beyond. He calls it the “New Jazz Swing.” Songs like Congratulations, Macrame and Funk Me Up are true standouts.  He also added his special touch of contemporary style to classics like A Night in Tunisia and YouDon’t Know What Love Is.  Cover tunes like Déjà vu and One Woman Man shine with spectacular background vocals by Amanda Elliott and Troy Marshall. more

BSAP Goes to Africa
The trip to Accra, Ghana in February 2003 was incredibly successful! The Black Song and Poetry Ensemble toured and performed at several events during the African Heritage Choral Festival. Amanda accompanied the group and was able to perform with them in this “life altering” trip.
